In the highlands of Papua New Guinea, new generations have lost arts and skills mastered by their elders. Encouraged by the filmmaker, a group of young men set out to learn the art of shield making, guided by an elder. Through conversations with and between these young men as they shape the wood, we come to understand their history of art and war and the ties that bond them to each other.

Umiaq Skin Boat

Beautiful and poetic, a group of Inuit elders in Inukjuak, Quebec decide one summer to build the first traditional seal skin boat their community has seen in over 50 years. Over the course of working together on the boat, the elders recount astonishing stories of survival while navigating Arctic waters. Shot against the magnificent backdrop of the northern landscape, it bears witness to the resilience of the Inuit spirit in changing times.

They fight on the stage to show us that this world can change. Lucha Libre (Free Wrestling) is a mix of sport, theatre, and choreography. We get to know Rosita the Heartbreaker, Carmen Rosa the Champion, Yolanda the Passionate and Claudina the Condemned.

A character-driven film that illuminates the attraction of two female protagonists to bullfighting while highlighting the mystique and the contradictions of this ancestral tradition. The film follows the stories of Eva Florencia, a novice bullfighter from Italy and Maripaz Vega, the only active professional female matador in the world.
