SYNOPSIS :

In a desert by the sea, an ancient culture endures toxic modernity. A grandmother and her granddaughter intertwine in estrangement over memory. The myth sheds controversy; time falls in dreams of sand, old songs and rock music. First full-length feature drama to be ever produced in Cmiique Iitom (Seri language).

The film received an award of recognition at Ethno Kino (2022) and received the prize for the Best Original Screenplay at aluCine Latin Film + Media Arts Festival (2022).

BIOGRAPHY : 

Antonio Coello is a Mexican and Colombian filmmaker and visual anthropologist who collaborates as curator with the Dreamspeakers International Film Festival. His short films involve indigenous communities with which he creates collective cinematic stories that have been shown at various festivals and museums like the Guggenheim Museum in New York and ImagineNATIVE at Toronto. As a teacher he has taught workshops and courses on screenplay writing and filmmaking in Mexico, Canada, U.S.A., India and Nepal. Siete Filos (Seven Ridges) is his first full-length feature film.
