The Fourfold

by Alisi Telengut, 2020 (Canada, Germany)

Germany | 7 min | Original Version, English Subtitles

A tribute to Mongolian and Siberian animistic beliefs, The Fourfold is a brilliant and magnificent immersion into Indigenous myths surrounding Ovoos, shamanic cairns used for offerings to non-human materialities. The film’s gesture towards our planetary relationship honours Indigenous Mongolian and Siberian perspectives in a vividly stunning breath of singing colours and textures.

Alisi Telengut is a Mongolian-Canadian filmmaker. Her works have achieved international acclaim and exhibited at festivals such as Sundance (USA), TIFF (Canada), and the Canadian Cultural Centre at the Embassy of Canada (France).

This film was also nominated for Best Animated Short at the Canadian Screen Awards and won the Prix Iris for Best Animated Short Film at the 22nd Quebec Cinema Awards.
