SYNOPSIS :

Humaira Bilkis has a problem: after a pilgrimage to Mecca, her mother, who was previously an emancipated poet, has now become devout. The filmmaker has to fight to get her to accept the camera, since her religion forbids images, while hiding her relationship with a Hindu man from Calcutta.

BIOGRAPHY : 

Humaira Bilkis is a Dhaka-based independent filmmaker and producer. She chose non-fiction as a medium because it liberated her to be a storyteller. Her early forays into filmmaking are informed with a reading of media, culture, gender, and development issues she has been developing since she was a student of Mass Communication and Journalism of University of Dhaka. She’s a former graduate in Creative Documentary from Sri Aurobindo Center for Arts and Communication.
